Thumbs down I Apologize on Behalf of These Obnoxious Senior Members

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Earth.

These snarky responses to the majority of questions are uncalled for and downright disgusting.

From wrongful termination to sexual harassment issues, the immature brats on this board are of little help. They love themselves some dry humor, and if one of you disagrees with them, well that is their feast for the night.

What they fail to understand is that while they reduce you to their mediocre one-liners, you are actually experiencing these problems. In this economy, workers are expected to do much more work for far less pay and these people on here would like you to be grateful for it.
As one senior member wrote, "you should get on your knees and thank God you still have a job."

Yes, these are the people that are here to help you. Perhaps they have nothing better to do with their lives and get off on acting ugly towards people that are requesting their help. Good for them, at least they get their kicks doing it.

However, to all of you struggling employees out their that are subjected to illegal practices in the workplace, this forum isn't the only place for you to go to get advice. Wherever you are, study the labor laws in your state. Once something happens that you feel is wrong, start taking a journal with you to work and write down everything, dates and times.

99% of their answers are subject to the term "at-will employee." I was discussing this subject with a regional manager (of a So Cal retail franchise) and he laughed at the notion of at-will employee situations being that black/white. Yes, generally that is what we are but it isn't that cut and dry. He went into detail about situations of harassment, wrongful termination, and things you would have to be there to believe (even detailing an account where an employee accused of stealing- it was on tape- appealed and earned UI benefits AND took them to court and received settlement). These were employees that they had legit reasons to fire, but the worker still won their case. *GASP* Had those workers visited this board, they simply would have been laughed offline. By no means do I suggest stealing, but if those folks can do it, can't you? Or maybe the sr. members on here should be viewed as they are, NOT LEGAL ADVICE. GO SEE AN ATTORNEY!!!!

Be prepared, don't let these folks shoot you down and don't take their crap. They answer your questions as if it is a burden to them.

You folks out there, braving this economy, worrying about if you'll have a job tomorrow, working at an awful job, you can do better than just comin' to this board.

I apologize for these folks, the majority of these sr. members that are suited for a life at the DMV. I'm sure there is a board out there that is better suited for this type of assistance. I'm sure a senior member will jump on here and say "well we're not here for therapy or to pat you on the back." I guess what they are here is to act like a bunch of azzholes then , that lack compassion or the insight that they might not have the final say on your situation. I mean, who would want to investigate their case further after enduring the sarcastic responses to their question on a freakin' message board. Yeah, I'm sure those people will follow up with a visit to a law office .

Good luck out there to all of you! Educate yourselves and I hope that you brave this economy and do well. If you're at a bad job, have hope that jobs will come, and you can run out the door to a new and better future. Get away from this crappy board and find somewhere else. I'm not sure what the sr. members will do with their lives (most of them, anyway) without having you to spit their venom at, but I'm sure they have some customers at the DMV to yell at. Or their children that no longer speak to them. Or their ex-spouse that has recently married someone new and better. They'll figure it out.

I apologize on behalf of all the board's newer members who think they understand legal issues that are way over their heads and complain bitterly when people are presented with facts, laws, and the like. There - now we can all feel better.

Seriously, the majority of questions here are answered with solid, accurate legal information. Sarcasm does occur, but let's not pretend that in most cases it's not inspired by the attitudes and responses of people who post confused diatribes, don't read the hundreds or thousands of other threads addressing their exact issue, and throw tantrums when they find out that the laws actually do apply to them. The law isn't always fair, but that's not the fault of this site's volunteers.

In looking through your past posts, sunny, you have a tendency to pick fights, and moderators have had to spend quite a bit of time cleaning up those threads. Perhaps the principal reason why people aren't nice to you is that you're not nice to them.

Sunny....if you think we are "azzholes" (ever learn to spell?)....maybe you should take your questions elsewhere. I'm sure if you have enough money, you can get help from Charlie Sheen and his lawyers.
