I applied for F1 visa in July 2010. I was supposed to join the university by 10th September 2010 but my visa application went into administrative processing. After almost eight months they have finished processing it. I just received my passport along with a letter stating that they couldn't issue me a visa because I am ineligible to receive a visa under the section 212 (a) (3) A1 which states that:
"...... (3) Security and related grounds.-
(A) In general.-Any alien who a consular officer or the Attorney General knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, seeks to enter the United States to engage solely, principally, or incidentally in-
(i) any activity (I) to violate any law of the United States relating to espionage or sabotage or (II) to violate or evade any law prohibiting the export from the United States of goods, technology, or sensitive information..."
I applied for MS Aerospace Engineering. Do you think that course choice is the reason for rejection? I have no prior criminal record, I present all the real document and I just finished my bachelor degree last year in Aerospace Engineering.
I am also curious to know if the rejection under this section means permanent rejection? I have a scholarship from another university for Fall 2011 in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering course and I want to apply again.
Thank You for your reply.
