Default Methadone Clinic Immediately Discharged Patient on 120 Mgs After 9 Years

My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: Louisiana
I have been a patient at a methadone clinic for 9yrs 8 mths without any infractions or incidents .I was dosing at 120 mgs on phase 7 recieving 13 takeout doses and 1 dose in clinic for years .in fact, i was one of the very first patient tested under this new law.Last year i was injured on a offshore barge being pinned underneath a 150lb iron wall unit .i sustained major injurie.broken nose requiring surgery ,fracture to roof of mouth,7 blown discs in lower back and cervical spine, multiple pinched nerves, vertigo, concussion,i have 5 different things wrong with my back. i told them that i wasnt taking the pain meds because i didnt want to fail urine screen and lose take home status. due i live 2 hours away ( this is the closest clinic) and i was extremely fearful of being sick on methadone . I was told by counsler and Doctor to take meds as i needed. it would not effect my status. well low and behold my first dirty urine screen they knocked down to once a week for 30 days, this happened every 3-4 months total 3 times i think .the injury to my back causes my legs to give out and i fall. I fell and shattered my heelbone this is a severely painful injury .Because i smoke and the severity of the breaks the dr didnt want to do surgery right away.I told er dr i was on methadone and they gave me a morphine shot and it did nothing cor the pain bc of the methadone, so he gave me a 40mg dose at 3am. when i fell it was out by my road and i wasnt able to go get my methadobe bc I was taken to hospital by amulance .I Live alone and no one knew i was there ubtil 10am after i had been discharged from ER 30 miles from home .i was unable to reach anyone(New years holiday) I was not drinking btw.let me add i have no insurance and live on workmans comp. 3 days later i had to go to charity hospital er It;a the only way to see Orthopedic Dr. they prescribed lortab 10 .i was in so much pain and on crutches . my daughter handled paperwork and got medications filled .when i went back to the clinic . I had to see counselor ,explain what happened, give paperwork from er visits,I when seen that i had been prescribed lortab at charity and the 40 mgs of methadone at the pay hospital She freaked out and said I shouldve brought a bottle of methadone back bc er dr gave me the 40mgs. Well when i came back 2 weeks later i lost status again when i returned 7 days later i was told i had to come back the next day as i was being placed on phase 2 coming twice a week until i was staffed by owner (drug addict) i came back the next day and i was discharged immediately with no dose and i had paid for 1 week the day before He gave me back 2 days money .can they do this ? Send someone addicted to the max dose out like this with nothing?I woas naive to methadone when i started . over the years i've seen them do adminstrative detox - coming daily dropping dose 5 mg per day until your off. methadone withdraw is horrifying and this is my biggest fear in life, i am scared to death and i dont know what to do. no dr was present nor was i allowed to even speak with the dr. i have no money til next comp check by then i will be too sick to do anything.. if your going to judge me please dont bother commenting.I'm beginning withdraw and expect by the end of the day to be in a total mess. Thank you for your help .

Can you be discharged from a methadone program for repeatedly breaking their rules, repeatedly testing positive for controlled substances not authorized by your clinic, and ignoring repeated warnings not to let it happen again? Yes. Even if you're in pain. If they verified your account I am surprised at this outcome, but you have no right to be treated at that clinic - as long as it's not for an unlawful reason, such as discrimination based upon race, gender, or religion, they can even terminate you if you're following the rules.

You can look for an alternate provider here.

i went thru another surgery th rules state you must provide copy of prescription medications and sign medical alerts to treating physicians. I complied with rules.Their DR. authorized medication. They have people on xanax , somas , they give klonopin .these are known medications that cause overdoses and many deaths. my point is i wasnt taking anything until they told me repeatedly that i could .its not like you get high on a lortab or any type of opiate. i just think it's dangerous to this for many reasons. my only alternative is to see dr for suboxone once wc check comes (which is 1 week late btw lol) thanks for your input
