Default Guardian requesting a name change

As a legal guardian can I petition in court for a name change, since the father has never raised or supported the children?

    My response:

    State name?

Probably not. You're just a "guardian," not a parent. You never said whether the parent's parental rights have been terminated, and you never told us the child's age.
