Angry Can a Confidential Informant Sue After Not Getting a Reward

My question involves civil rights in the State of: North Carolina-Ok i know i've had some of my questions answered about this already, but i need to know what type of attorney to get in contact, for trying to sue the government.....a friend started working with the Feds about a year ago, giving up info on a major crime orginazation, the local sheriffs department made him a deal in the beginng telling him that he would have witness protection, and a reward of up to 25,000 dollars if he helped get some of these people off the street, the informant made it totally clear he would not do any work unless he was to get into witness protection, and the detectives working with him told him that it was a go. After all was said and done and the case was more than half over, after the confidential informant already gave up alot of info, the Feds said that Protection was not guaranteed and that it would pretty much be in his best interest to continue with the case if he wanted protection, now that everyone has been indicted and took pleas the feds tell him witness protection is denied and it will be years before he MIGHT get a reward, they left this guy hanging and now he's looking over his shoulder all the time because this GANG KILLS all informants, and have for years, what does this guy need to do, what kind of attorney does he need to call? thanks for anyones time!

Really? Couldn't keep it to one thread? The reward was up to $25K. Up to also includes $0. It honestly sounds like your friend got gamed in order for the gov't to make its case. As I stated in your other thread if your friend already consulted lawyers and no one would take the case....that means your friend has NO case. As I stated in your other thread, if he has nothing in writing...he is SOL. As I stated in your other thread....if he is concerned for his safety, he needs to run and hide.

No police officer, detective or sheriff can make any offers or deals. They will tell you what you want to hear to crack there case. The only deal makers are federal-state-county-municipal prosecutors or the Attorney-Generals office, no one other then these two people can offer you or anybody anything. And if you are ever offered a "deal" from a prosecutor, you better get that deal in writing PERIOD.

The $25,000 reward isn't just given right away. The accused must be tried and convicted in order for the reward to be issued. That is why they told you it can take years to get the reward. If the accused individual isn't found guilty, then no reward money will be issued.
