Default Establishing Paternity and Having a Birth Certificate Amended

I'm 34 yrs old and I was born in California but I now live in Texas. I have recently located my biological father and would like to have his name placed on my birth records. He lives in Seattle. The father listed on the current record is that of my mother's ex-husband who was not the father. I would like to know how I can get this completed. I don't know which courts to contact or how to initiate the process. My father is willing to sign documents and submit to DNA testing, but I need to know what process guidelines I should follow to get this done. Can someone please help me with this dilemma?

The only way your biological father can become your legal father at this late stage is via an adult adoption. Have a chat with an attorney.
