My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: CALIFORNIA
ok here goes.. my boyfriend started working at a restaurant as a dishwasher (2-1-11) and approximately a couple days on the job he got cut by a broken glass cup in the sink(2-5-11). he then let the person in charge know and she then cleansed the cut and bandaged it up. the next day he went to work and worked a couple hours and the manager sent him home since all the dish washing soaps burned the cut. same thing happened the next day only worked a couple hours and got sent home. the manager then told him to take the next 3 days off and to return to work on friday (2-11-11)of that same week. so friday came and then they told him to call and speak to the manager at the time his shift was supposed to start. he went in to speak to the manager and the manager paid him and sent him home telling him that there was no work for him available and that they would call him when they needed him. the manager then told him business was slow and he was cutting hours while posting up a "help needed" sign. this cut is on the side of his hand and it is big and looks infected. is there a way he can try to get workers compensation since the manager completely took him off work following the injury. the manager also did not tell him to go to the doctor he just told him to take care of it at home. the cut is still sore to the touch and has been 10 days since the injury is there anything that can be done because he feels as if he is being discriminated against because he got hurt.
what can he do?
