Hi,
Im currently signed into a 12 month lease with 3 other room-mates.
Shortly after signing the lease, 1 room-mate got fired, 1 room-mate got sick and never returned to work (even though he is fine now), and 1 room-mate had a bipolar breakdown and stopped going to work. So now i'm the only employed person, 2 room-mates rely on their parents financial assistance (which wont last forever), and 1 room-mate is on Welfare (but doesnt have close to enough money to support 1/4 of the property costs).
On top of that, all 3 room-mates smoke pot, and 2 room-mates use Oxycotin. 1 room-mate even has his father stay several days of the month on our couch or his bedroom, and they both have eaten my food without permission.
This is the 44th day into our lease, and 1 of my room-mates hasnt paid any of his bills that came in 14 days ago (the one on welfare).
To make this more difficult, they party throughout the night, are loud at all hours, and are very messy.
They also are forcing me to keep my cat in my bedroom at all times, because their behavior scares my cat and he sometimes urinates when my roommates yell or behave agressively.

So my problem is I am stuck in a 12 month lease with 3 people who are now un-employed drug users, and they refuse to sign a Roommate Release Agreement, because they are unemployed and cant pay rent.

Does anybody know any legal recourse I have? Is there a way that I can force them to release me as a tenant within our signed lease?

Thanks!
