Default Theft of Services by a Law Firm

My question involves criminal law for the states of: Pennsylvania and New York

Two different law firm hire vendor to perform services for the firm and their clients. One firm is in NY; other is in PA. Vendor tries to collect. Firm agrees that money is owed, just chooses not to pay. Basically, says "sue me". Vendor wants to avoid litigation if possible. Too much time, expense and bad public relations.

Have law firms committed theft of services? Would prosecutors pursue?

    Thanks,
    RCK

Default Re: Theft of Services by a Law Firm

I have no access to the contract, don't know if the contract is with the client, the law firm or both, and know none of the facts underlying the failure to pay. So your guess should be a lot better than mine.

From what you've told us so far you appear to have a civil claim against whomever is obligated to pay you under the contract. Failure to pay a bill is not "theft of services".
