My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: CA

I received my Chapter 7 discharge dated 1/28/2011. Included in my petition were two debts from a University. 1) was a debt for housing and 2) was an emergency book loan given by the student loan services.

Both of these debts including the loan, were UNIVERSITY debts, and not government student loans. They had nothing to do with my student loans, which I included, but I know are not dischargeable.

Now, the Housing department told me that, while they will remove the records hold, they will automatically deny my application to student family housing.

Can they do that, even though I will qualify for housing once I am registered and enrolled in classes? (the only criteria?)

And for the emergency book loan, the rep that took the records hold off when I first filed and faxed over my Notice of Filing, he put the hold BACK on my records, saying that since this is an "educational-related expense" that he put the hold back on and it wasn't dischargeable. Education related expense does NOT equal student loan, private or government....can he do that?

Finally, how do I know which debts were discharged on my case and which ones were not?
