My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Massachusetts
I worked very hard at 4 jobs during the last year, 3 of which were temporary positions which ended satisfactorily. I took a part time job with a telemarketing firm doing fundraising for an orchestra in November. I thought I could do it because I had worked for the Census and done very well, but it was very different. For the first 2 and a half days, we were trained. I was there for 4 more nightly shifts when my supervisor told me she thought I was a "nice person," but couldn't raise enough money, and so was let go. I was always on time and conscientious, but too nervous on the phone. That was my last job in 2010. The Mass. Unemployment office told me that my claim has been held up, because of an issue with this job, since the employer reported I was discharged. This has been sent to an adjuster. Can I be denied benefits, because my supervisor thought I wouldn't be a good fundraiser? I might add at this time we were given only names of people who had rarely ever given money to this place, so as to not waste the good leads until we were ready; thus, no one was raising much money at all at this time.
I have not been denied benefits as yet. I was just wondering if my dismissal is reason for a denial.
