Default Filing for Unemployment but W2 Lists ADP As Employer Instead of My Company

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California.
My company changed their payroll process midyear, something to do with a shift in their association with ADP. As a result, we received two sets of W2's; both sets have ADP Inc. printed on them, but the the W2 for the first half of the year lists my company in the employer field, whereas the W2 for the last half lists "ADP" in the employer name field. Will this cause issues or delays in the unemployment application process?

I have an acquaintance who is currently facing unemployment application issues due to his company changing its business name. I don't think this is the same thing, since there has been no change to the actual company itself in my case, but I want to get a second opinion to be prepared for any obstacles.

I am not unfamiliar with ADP when it comes to payroll. The only thing I can think of is that ADP has gotten into the PEO business.

In any case, no, it shouldn't make any difference, either to you or your friend. The state looks at all wages paid in the base period, no matter from which employer.

Thank you for responding so quickly! You are right. I did a little digging and looks like my company switched from just ADP, to a co-employment situation with ADP Total Source, which IS a PEO. At that point, payroll was fully outsourced to ADP, so we now receive paychecks directly from an ADP account, whereas paychecks used to have my actual employer's name/account on them.
That was what worried me the most, However I am assuming this "co-employment" is a legitimate association and that EDD will not question it. As I understand it, businesses that are operating illegally often change their name to escape legal action being taken against them, which makes me think that doing this is like starting a brand new company, which might explain why EDD has informed my friend that he hasn't worked for his company long enough, even though he has been with the same company for years, except that it was operating under a different name.
