My question involves criminal law for the state of: California.
My neighbors saw a couple suspicious characters walking around in front of my house. The next day my house got broken into. The day after the break in, my neighbors saw the same suspects again(I'm guessing they think I hadn't fixed the back window and wanted to clean me out again). A week later 4 males(1 adult and 3 juveniles) were caught trying to brake into someones house less than 3 miles away(their MO matches the discription that my neighbors gave me), is it possible to have my neighbors go to the jail and see if it was the exact same suspects? And if it is indeed them, is it enough to have the cops search their homes? Also they had a bunch of tools/materials on them when they were arrested, can I bring them my safe that was broken into and see if the marks/dents matches the tools that they had? The detective on my case is practically telling me that it is useless because the neighbors didn't see them in the "ACT" of doing the burglary. Any help/tip is very much appreciated. Sad thing is I live about a block away from the police station and I still got hit.
Thanks
