My question involves criminal law for the state of: Louisiana
A friend that used to live with me was pulled over in my driveway and had approximately two ounces of marijuana on him. His drivers license still had my address on it. The officer asked me if there was any marijuana or pipes in my house. I wanted to cooperate with him so I let them in and gave them what I had which was some marijuana pipes and some old marijuana (a few baggies with a little bit in each mostly sticks, stems, and seeds). As he was looking around he found a bottle with around 15 Adderal. This was in September. My friend was given a summons for simple possession of marijuana. I was given a summons for Simple possession of marijuana and one for paraphenalia. The officer said he was going to send the Adderal off to a lab to have them analyzed so I didn't have to go to jail that day. He also wanted me to think about helping them bust someone else and he would help me when I went to court. Which I don't deal with anyone so that was out of the question. I went to court in December for the two possession charges at that time they gave me a new court date for a felony arrainment. The new charge is Possession Schedule 1, CDS, to wit: marijuana. I'm not really sure why my misdemeanor charges are now felonies. I was also arrested January 7 for Possession of Schedule 2 narcotics for the adderal which they are saying the offense date is January 7 which really should be September 29th. I have never been in trouble before what should I do?
