Default FAFSA and Drug Convictions While Receiving Student Aid

My question involves criminal law for the state of: NH

The drug conviction question on the FAFSA form asks: "Have you been convicted for the possession or sale of illegal drugs for an offense that occurred while you were receiving federal student aid (grants, loans and/or work-study)?"

My question is, Can I say" no" if the offense occured during summer vacation, since no aid was being received for any schooling at that time?

Also- this was a misdemeanor conviction for drug possession, if that makes a difference.

If you were enrolled at the time (i.e., between semesters) then yes you must answer YES to this question. The only escape would be if you were between schools at the time.

    Misdemeanor convictions are convictions.
