My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Washington. I am seventeen years old. Yes, I know I shouldn't run away but because of the illegal activity going on within my home, and the danger my custodial parent puts me in due to this activity, I'm going to do it anyways, regardless of how immature it is and regardless of what people tell me. So far, the pros have outweighed the cons dramatically.

I have spoken with a councellor about this, and he basically told me that I could get in trouble, but because of my age it is very unlikely so long as I am not found and my location and the person(s) I am with is not disclosed.

I read in another thread that because of my age, the police will not actively search for me, but if I am stopped and ID'd, they will return me to my custodial parent. Is this true?

I am aware that my custodial parent can, instead of reporting me as a runaway, report me as a missing person. I have one step to help prevent this, which is sending him an email clearly stating that I am running away. If he deletes it and reports me as missing anyways, I still have the email in my sent folder and drafts folder of my email account. If the police find me, and I present them with the proof that I am not a missing person, can my custodial parent be charged with filing a false police report?

RCW 13.32A.082 state that anyone providing shelter to a minor who is a runaway must report the location to the authorities and to the custodial parent of the runaway. I am aware that the authorities will will typically respond to this by picking up the minor. How would this go about if my location is on the other side of the state from where I live under the supervision of my custodial parent?

Thank you everyone for the advice. I appreciate it.
