Default Charges Dismissed Because Arresting Officer Didn't Show Up at First Hearing

My question involves an arrest warrant from the State of: GA

We had a warrant against someone for theft by taking. He was arrested for a few days but now they say he was released because the judge dismissed charges. I haven't been able to get any more info yet but they are saying arresting officer didn't show up, the Arresting officer is saying there was a warrant and didn't have to show at the first hearing. Any ideas? Can charges be re-filed?

Odds are, yes. You're free to check the court file to confirm that the dismissal was without prejudice, assuming the charge was in fact dismissed.
