My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
Hey I live in New York state and I was charged with a class e felony for grand larceny (possession of stolen property). I hopped from store to store stealing clothes and shoes, then I went to best buy and almost got caught with my friend. Instead of going home and calling it quits my friend drove us to another best buy and we took one xbox connect each he also grabbed 2 nintendo Ds's. As we went to the car he was putting it in the trunk and the employee got the license plate (he was parked 10 feet from the store). We got pulled over on a thruway and got charged for everything in the trunk as stolen property. Instead of 18 petit larceny's we both got a felony charge. Then a few weeks later I was raged because I felt it was all his fault I got caught instead of remorseful for doing a wrong deed and I went out and stole a pair of oakley sunglass's. A few weeks after that I was pulled over driving by the mall because they recognized my vehicle and I was charged with a petit larceny. It then hit me I was making very very poor decisions I have to go to court on the 31st of january 2011 for the felony and march 7th for the petit larceny. I'm 17 years old and I'm very remorseful for my mistake and I never plan to steal anything in my life because the first time I got caught I didn't have fear of jail or anything and the second time I was arrested it all hit me. I have a lawyer for 2k and I'm meeting with him tomorrow but I want to know other oppions on what I might face jail time wise or what I can do to avoid jail I'm really scarred and I am afraid the judge will not believe I am remorseful or changed because I went back out and did the same thing after the first time.. Please give me help guys I swear I'm changed now and I know there will be concequence's but I'm hoping there could be something other than jail.
