Default California Trial by Written Declaration

My question involves traffic court in the State of: California

Hello, I've received a citation for speeding in Stanislaus County, and have submitted my TBWD pleading not guilty. Looking at the court's website, I saw the last entry for my case read: 1/21/2011 Hearing, which is when I assume the CHP Officer would need to submit his report by. Checking today, I saw that the date was changed to a week later - 1/28/2011. Can they do that - just give the officer another week without obtaining the other party's (mine) consent?

You're probably reading too much into it, even though courts to do a lot of discretion when it comes to extending due dates. Most online case status systems don't reflect TBD statuses very well, anyway.

Here's the result, seeing into the future: guilty. Now what?
