    Post Name Change Texas

My question involves name change laws in the State of: Texas

When I became a naturalized US citizen in 2004 I had my name legally changed at the same time. Other than holding a certificate in the new name and a US Passport in the new name I have not implemented the name change. Texas Dirver's license, all bank accounts, insurance, SS etc remained in my old name.
Originally, I wanted an "American" name to experience less discrimination when applying for a job. However, since the year 2004 I had no need to apply for employment.
I have decided to "reclaim" my original birth name.
Question: Do I have to go through court to have a name change reversed? How can I proof I have been a resident of the state of Texas when my driver's license remained in my old name?

That is a really sticky situation, and I am not sure at all how you have been able to have a passport in your new name without your name being changed with the Social Security Administration.

To be honest, I am not sure that I would want to do what you want to do. I would be more inclined to use my naturalization certificate and passport to get everything change to that name...and to be honest, it might possibly be easier to reclaim your original name if you first had everything changed to your current legal name.

However, if you feel very strongly about it I would get a consult with a local immigration attorney, and an attorney that deals with name changes as well
