Talking Does the legislation protect the rights of people

I am currently conducting a research paper entitled "Does the legislation adequately protect the rights, interest and welfare of people?" Such as how does the legislation protect the aborigines, children, elderly, women, and phyiscal unfit......in what way they protect them ??
I do hope that you all would be able to give me some response to this question. Thanks.

Althought some people has post something which is not related to my research question but anyway i still want to say thanks to those people who really discuss about the question......

Hi... annie mega...i think i don't understand what u mean "what legislations protect the rights of women and". .....but i think the example is like the legislations has created or passed some act which was trying to help the people but the important things is after they created it....do you know there are how many peoples really pratice or using it.....am i right ??

So that's why i am asking about how does the legislation protect the peoples...because maybe the legislation has done something which i do not know......so hope u all can give me some opinions about that.......thanks
