    Default Capital Punishment in General

Im from Malaysia and would like to take this opportunity to bring some puzzles to light. As we know today a total of 112 countries have abolished the death penalty in law or practice while some countries retain the death penalty in law but have not carried out any executions for the past 10 years or more. However, the point of the matter is, should capital punishment be abolished?; in any part of the world that is.

YES!! i totally agree that capital punishment should be abolished. This can be shown when there are so many countries had abolished capital punishment. Firstly, capital punishment should be abolished because mistakes made by the courts cannot be taken back. Once a person who is innocent is convicted, they cannot revive! Besides that, a persons right to live is taken away. That is really unfair! Criminals totally do not deserve capital punishment because they are humans too.

    - Abolish capital punishment!-

hey felix, please post something thats related to capital punishment. not stuck up your nose and comment on what other people say.

Well in my opinion capital punishment should be abolished, Since all men and women are created in the image of God, every life has an intrinsic and immeasurable value. From conception, a human life is sacred and special, and deserves therefore, to be treated with utmost respect. Capital punishment is the exterminating of that precious life. It is intentional killing, and so contravenes the 6th Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill” [Exodus 20:13 ].

    Good day to you

To a certain extent, capital punishment should not be abolished. This is as this will serve as a warning purpose to the people.

i am definately no legal expert but i always have my say when it comes to capital punishment. i think it SHOULD NOT be abolish. If let say u are talking about 'innocent' people who would mistakenly be executed, what about the 'innocent' that have PURPOSELY been, for example murdered, raped n etc. Arent they human too?what about their rights to life? In my own personal view, capital punishment is a way to affirms rights to life by punishing those who violates it in the most strict way. And when u talk about rights, i firmly say that those who to not respect and have violates this 'rights' falls out of the sphere of this 'rights'. in another way of saying it..THEY DESERVE SUCH PUNISHMENT.

well it should be abolished,Because why are we following the law of a thousand year old dead culture, yeah that's right because in my Medieval studies book it says that the death penalty was used for crimes like property crimes and to convert people to Christianity,Because Charlemange used the death penalty against those who wouldn't convert,Because if we're gonna follow one law from the Dark Ages, why not follow them all, like to upsurp the "Divine Right of Kings" and to arrest those who wear the colors purple or blue?

I agree with you. I just hate the appeal process, it seems to take forever and the murderer is more likely to die from old age than the needle or electric chair.

Lets bring back the noose or better yet firing squad!
