My question involves a child custody case from the State of: PA
Horrible situation! My brother in law was just married June 2010. He is expecting his first child, a girl in April. About a month ago she told him that she no longer loved him and moved out. She is diagnosed with Bipolar and Depression.
Since then she has changed her phone number so he has no way of contacting her. He desperatly wants to know how the baby is developing and that she is healthy.
He also of coarse wants to be at the hospital when the baby is born. We know that she states who can and can not be in the delivery room. However he just wants to be notified and at the hospital when she is in labor.
Does he have any rights as to know the well being of his unborn child? Also does he have any rights to know when she goes into labor so he can be at the hospital?
If he does then I guess the next step is to get an attorney involved. If not then I guess there is nothing he can do until after the baby is born and should'nt spend his money until then. I hope that is not the case.
Here is a father who wanted to be there for his child from the start and has been completly robbed of that!Fathers need MORE rights in cases such as this.
My heart just broke to hear him crying that he is missing the opportuntiy to feel his baby move in her belly and to be there when she comes into this world.
It also does not help that his brother and I just had our first child. He was so looking forward to experiencing what his brother had. It is hard to believe how many peoples lives can be effected over one persons decision. She has hurt our family very much!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. May God Bless You and Yours!
