My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

Im a 17 year old who was recently caught by WalMart shoplifting an item valued at roughly $130 (electronic). What happened was my friend and I had gone into the store (which was not in out home town) taken said item (we each had one) and were leaving the store when stopped byb 2-3 younger guys. They said they knew we had the items on us and they saw it on camera, and asked if we would follow them and do it civily ect. We agreed, hoping to get into less trouble, and followed them into the room.

There they asked us the sandard info (name, D.O.B, address, ect), they also asked if we had id present on us at the time. I told them i didnt (I was freaking out at the time so i lied about that) and asked how we had gotten there, which we then told him that we came with friends we were with and we had gotten seperated in the store ( a lie but i was afraid they were going to search our car, and for own personnal reasons which i wont state, i obvioulsy didnt want them too).

They then said we werent banned from shoping at WalMart but we would be receiving a letter in the mail asking for civil fines or something (i think when i asked him he said it could be up to 20x the retail price of the item)

They then said they had called the police, who had in turn showed up and asked us many of the similiar questions, handcuffed and arrested us. Brought us down to the station, fingerprinted us ect. We each posted bail and received a court date.

I've read many things online stating how if it was your first offense (which it is) that you usually get off with fines, community service, and probation and then it gets off your record.

My main questions would be:
Will this affect my college applications or anything as such? (senoir in HS)
IF it does get exsponged (or however you say it) do i still have to fill in the arrested colums in job/college applictation?
What would be the most likely fines i'll receive?
Would they spend the time to go back into the tapes and view us entering the store/view tapes into the parking lot too see if we drove?

My friend has also gotten in similiar trouble with this recently;his story is very similiar to mine above (about $150 item, 17 first time offender, caught ect.) except he had gone into the store first, stolen some items, went back to his car and deposited them, went back in and got caught with another item. The police didnt search his car or anything as such but he's also worried that they might look back into the tapes and see that he went in got stuff, went out and came back in again. How likely is it that they would do all that searching, even though they had caught him already?

Needless to say it was something that i shouldnt have done and i feel horrible about it and the best solution for me would be to get through the fines/probation/community service and have it exsponged from my record. and i cant speak on behalf of my friend (stated above) but im sure he feels very similiar. This isn't something that im going to do again and im just hoping i can get through it without impacting my future.

Thanks
