Default Accident in a High School Parking Lot

My question involves an accident that occurred in the state of: NJ

I don't have any injuries to report thank goodness, but

I was driving southbound in my H.S. parking lot and another driver was going westbound

we collided in the intersection. who is liable? We both have damge to our bumpers
and i also have damage on the driverside door and window

who has the right of way??

unless it was clearly the fault of one or the other, it will quite possibly be seen as shared fault.

well the police report is stating that i was suppose to yield the right of way for the other driver, but i do ot understand why do i have to yield and not the other driver when on the police report we both have the same statement - ( i was going straight to my parking spot and she/he hit me) it looks like we both got to the intersection at the same time

I thought the car in the right lane has the right of way?

Nothing gives a person the right to not stop to avoid a collision. If one lane was a main lane and the other a branch, they might consider the driver on the main lane to have right of way.

    were you ticketed?

what is with the issue of fault? What does it affect for you?

No I was not ticketed yet, but the police report states I should have yielded, but , in both lanes you can clearly see if thee is traffic

the other car turned and then went right into me. my lane was the main lane, her lane was the size if maybe 2 car lengths. I just spoke with my car insurance and they said they are going to look into this cause the repost does not seem right.

Its the wild wild west in parking lots ... unless you were stationary or the other car was, it will likely be seen as duel fault. Yee-ha.
