Default Raising Rents for Children Who Turn 18

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California

    Hi,

When a minor turns 18 do they then count as an adult can a landlord raise rents for the new adult?

Couldn't find this issue addressed in the: http://www.dca.ca.gov/publications/l...ok/index.shtml

    thx

You mean when all minors in the family unit reach the age of 18, the lease is up, and nothing in the lease or local rent control laws otherwise limits the rent increase?

    Hi,

No, the owner is under the impression that when tenants occupy with minors for example, age 16 and 15, at year 2 and year 3 there can be an additional charge for an adult? I can't find any clarification on this. Thx.
