Default Surviving Spouse's Responsibility for Medical Bills

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Tennessee
My father passed away a few weeks ago. His estranged wife had been
living in Florida for about 6 months. They were still legally married. He
resided in Tennessee and she was residing in Florida at the time of his
death. He has no estate. Does Tennessee law state that the wife is responsible for all
    debts, including medical bills?

Default Re: Surviving Spouse's Responsibility for Medical Bills

she wouldn't be liable for his debts in general. At one time, she might have been liable for his medical debts but I ran across a few claims that is not the case in Tennessee anymore.

Is there some reason this question is coming up?
