    Default Cash Down Payment Fraud

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
We recently were trying to get some renovation done to our building. The contractors were people we had used for years. This time around they took our cash down payment and have decided to stop contacting us. What legal routes should I be taking?

If you believe a crime was committed, you make a police report.

You can also try suing them, assuming they have assets with which to pay you. Keep in mind that if they're a failing business, suing sooner is better than suing later and even then is no guarantee of recovery.
