Hello,
Happened aross this site, and seemed to be a very helpful discussion board for others. Not sure if the "non-imigrant" category is the right one or not, but have some Q's about if the INS really knows what they are doing... I read somewhere on the USCIS website regarding requiring biometric fingerprinting, that many U.S. embassy's abroad are being equipped to be able to do that right there. Yet, on the I-485 "requirments" which are very vauge at best, it lists sending in an additional $70 for biometrics fingerprinting.
My fiancee (now my wife), came over on a K1 fiancee visa. She said that at the U.S. Embassy, they took a biometric fingerprint of her two index fingers (exactly what the USCIS website says the biometric fingerprinting involves). Also, she went through a very thorough medical exam, including blood tests and other tests regarding diseases, and making sure she was current on needed vaccinations.
The U.S. Embassy clinic did not give her copies of all the tests etc (had to be surrendered at customs when entering the U.S., but was given a signed document DS-3025 labeled as U.S. Department of State Vaccination Documentation worsheet, which had the exact same vaccination documentation as the I-693 Vaccination supplemental form that seems to be required to be included when filing the I-485. Except for the form # and for a place for the civil surgeon’s signature vs. the place for the Dept of State authorized surgeon’s signature on the DS-3025, everything is exactly the same documentation. Does this DS-3025 satisfy the listed requirement for the vaccination suppliment for the I-485?
If they already did the biometric fingerprinting on her and the medical exam/testing, would these two things they are listing as being "required" be redundant and not valid for a K1 fiancee visa applicant applying for the I-485?
Also, Where does a person find the immigrant visa # that the web instructions indicate is needed for filing the I-485? Is that the K1 Fiancee Visa #?
Appreciate any feedback,
