My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
I got caught shoplifting at wal-mart this evening. They called the police. Before the police come they asked for my ID but I don't have any id cuz I'm still working on my paper work ( my marriage, just let you know I'm not a us citizen, and my status is still not good. Me and my husband just passed the marry interview but still waiting for my green card ) so they just ask me my name, dob, address, phone number...they filled some kind of paper but I didn't get to sign anything. They took my picture. And after the police came he just lock me up and took me to his car. And he asked for my ID but I said that I don't have and I told him about my stuff. So he asked for my husband information. I gave him my husband info. And he checked on his computer, my husband is clean. And he let me go he walked me back to the detective office cuz my purse and my stuff still there. And they let me go. Before the police guy he left I ask him so this gonna make me in trouble or I gonna be on record? He said "no" he said it's my first time and i don't have any criminal record so he let me go this time. But I'm not sure about that still worry it's gonna effect my situation right now. Is there any chance that the walmart they gonna do anything to me? Or r they gonna send letter to me for the fine? I just remember that I gave them the wrong address if they send something I not gonna receive it. Should I worry?
