My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: California
I got a ticket late at night for going 90 mph on the I15 where its 75. The two officers who were there did 2 sobriety checks when I wasn't drinking at all and had to spend that whole day by a computer although it was very late at night on a weekend when this occurred. I had a female companion in the car who can verify this as well. They wrote down a ticket for me going 89 and got both my age and date of birth wrong, 18 born in '92 when I'm 28. This upsets me when I log on to the online site. Anyway, my friend who's a police officer in NYC says that if its the wrong birthdate and age then its grounds for dismissal. I'm not sure if that's the case but I'd like to try fighting this. Is it better to do trial by declaration or to go in to the court appearance? Thanks for any advice.
