My question involves personal property located in the State of: Ohio
My boyfriend of three years moved out one day in May with out warning. A few days later he came back and I would not let him in. A week later I allowed him to come in my home and take his belongings. He said he took everything. When I came home from work I noticed he only took petty things like a garage can. I called him and told him and he said he took what he wanted and he did not want the rest. Now he wants his property back and I was willing to give it to him. When him and I spoke he was asking for things we bought together like a bed, air conditioner, dog cage, Christmas tree, etc.. I would like to give him his things back but after 5 months I do not feel I should have to split up property he abandoned. He was living in my house with no rental agreement for 3 years. therefore, many items were bought for the house hold and I feel they should stay. What are the laws I need to fallow. He said if I deny him to get anything he wants he can sew me for it and I would have to prove recipes for anything I wanted to keep.
