How to Evict A" Roommate" Who is Not on the Lease

My question involves a roommate in the State of: CA
My bleeding heart caused me to allow an old friend to move in with me into an extra room. It was supposed to be for a month or two, then when it was apparrent that she wasnt leaving anytime soon, I began charging her rent. Its now been 7 months and things are getting ugly. We have begun arguing more and more and it is an overall unpleasant situation. I want her out and she made the comment.."well, you'll have to evict me". So...I will! Remind me never to help someone again. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Is she paying you month to month?

Is this a home or an apartment that you pay rent on? Is there a specific clause that allows you to sublet or take on your own tenants?

You may be in the unfortunate situation of having to convince your landlord to evict YOU and all other occupants of the unit. Legally, you likely do not have the ability to evict your guest. But, if she is paying you month to month and you can prove this, then you may be able to have her removed with 30 days notice.
