My question involves criminal law for the state of: Iowa but i live in Florida
In Iowa i have been slapped with a bogus "Disorderly Conduct" charge which was dismissed, and a Theft on the 5th degree? i think. My theft charge stuck. It was only for a bad check at a grocery store. I meant to pay it back but files were already charged on me.
I wish to become a probation officer or maybe somewhere in law enforcement. However, i realize that any crime of "moral turpitude" will make me disqualified.
I feel i am a good guy and don't wish for this lack of money management to haunt me. It was a misdemeanor and i have no other crimes on my record. Is there any chance for exceptions.
p.s. if it helps i am currently pursuing a degree in criminology and managed a 4.0 every semester. I am fluent in german, and swiss german, i am leaning spanish.
This is surly an exception to the fact that i have now "grown up"??? PLEASE HELP
