    Default J1 to G4 Visa

    I have been on a J1 visa since September, it is due to expire on June. I have been offered a position within an international organization.
    Is there any problem to switch to a G4 visa? The HR department has doubts about me being able to switch status after only 3 month on a J1 and believe I need to wait at least 6 month before switching to G4, can anyone confirm that?

    Precision: I am not subject to the 2 years home requirement.

    Their concern is what - that the USCIS might infer that you entered under the J1 with the intention not of working for the J1 sponsor, but with the intent of job seeking and changing jobs at the earliest possible date?
