Default Should I Fight My First MIP

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

The other night i went to a party that was busted. I along with several others were charged with an MIP. However, I did not have any alcohol on me. The only reason I was charged was because i admitted to having one drink before I attended the party. I was never asked to take the breathalyser either.

I would just like to know whether it is in my best interest to fight this, seeing as how it is my first MIP, or should I just plead guilty and pay the fine? Also, my 21'st birthday is on the 30th of this month. Would this help my case any?

Lastly, about how much will this cost me, and how long would probation be if i plead guilty?

    All help is appreciated, thanks.

You can see if there is diversion in the court you are going to appear in. Some judges will provide it, some are adamantly opposed to it these days.
Take cash. Your statements are enough to convict you, your proximity to legal age isn't going to matter.
It's a few hundred dollar fine.

Ok, so i went to court today and plead guilty. I paid my fine and went on my way. Will this be on my record now? I never received any probation or community service.

Also, if it does remain on my record for however long, how could it negatively affect me?

When you plead guilty to a crime and are as a result convicted of that crime, that goes on your criminal record.
