Default Avoiding a Delay in Check With Temporary Address Change

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CA

I'm relocating to a different part of CA; an area (hopefully) with many more jobs. I'm staying with a friend. I am going to stay there for about a month.

Since there is no direct deposit, and since forwarded mail will not work for this time span, should I simply fill out the change of address form on the UI biweekly statement?

If I do so, will the processing time change (ie delay things) or will there be minimal to no change in processing time. Anyone experienced with this, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

I have done this. The change of address doesn't seem to delay the next claim form and check much at all, maybe a 1 day difference? But it will take effect with the very next mailing so be sure to change it back when you need to. And yes, it's faster than relying on the post office forwarding although that can work too if you mail it back as soon as you get it.
