My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Florida, Tennesse, and Georgia.

In 2004 I was charged with a DUI in my home state of TN. In 2006 I was charged with another in Florida. In 2007 another in GA. YES, I have been sober since February 15, 2009 and am devastated at my past. It's humiliating and I deserve whatever they throw at me.

I am a bit confused though. I was given a 5 year suspension on the 2nd in Florida. Then a 5 year suspension through the DMV here in Florida for the GA incident. I tried to apply for a hardship license today to go to the SSS. After I admitted to them that I had a DUI in TN and was given a 5 year suspension from the court, they said that they will have to do some research as to why I wasn't given a 10 year suspension in 2007 for the incident in GA. They said more than likely I will be given a 10 year suspension even though they told me from the beginning I was given two 5 years suspensions.

It is absolutely disheartening to try to clean up your act and overcome and work everyday at overcoming alcoholism. I'm so down and uspet about this. This will mean that I will not get my license back until 2017. What I don't understand is how the Safety Council knew about the 3 and made me do 12 weeks of counseling for 3 and the DMV is just finding out because I told them. Can they and will they give me the 10 year suspension now almost 4 years later?

Please advise.
