Question Can I Get Emancipated at 16 and Go Live with a Family Friend in Mo

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of North Carolina: I am 15 years old and i want to move out at 16. I have a really close family friend(Kyra) that lives in Missouri and i would like to go live with her and her wife they have there own house and both have jobs, i can also get one and be home schooled my senior year. she is 23 years old and her wife is 21. she is like a mother to me. my mom does not like her because she is gay but knows that Kyra is very responsible and would take great care of me. is there any way i could move out at 16 and go live with Kyra?

Did you even GLANCE at the sticky at the top of the forum you posted within?

Do so... and then come back. You will see you don't really have any chance whatsoever.

No. There is not a chance in heck that you could move out at 16 and live with Kyra or anyone else.

You see, that is not what emancipation means. Emancipation means that you and you alone are paying for your rent, food, utilities, clothing, transportation, medical care, insurance, school fees and supplies, staples, and all the other incidentals of life. It does not mean that you move out of your parents' home and someone else takes care of you.

Additionally, in the very rare cases that emancipation is granted, it is granted on the basis of need, not of want. "My parents were killed in a car crash and I need to be able to sign leases and pay the light bill" is a valid reason for emancipation. "I want to live with someone besides my mother" is not.
