My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
My ex-wife gave up custody of my sons a few months ago, she has been making trouble for my new wife and I for quite sometime, she recently came in town to visit the kids for the weekend, after picking up them up my ex and I got into an argument, to make a along story short she began punching on me while in front of my sons, she then started running after my wife, I blocked her from getting to her only to have her start beating on the trunk of my wife's new mercedes. My oldest tried to break it up only to have me turn my back to protect him from the blows, while my back was turned I was cut on the face with something, as a reaction I turned and punched her in the face because I was unsure if it was a knife or what, after she stumbled back her neice and the neices boyfriend got out their car and starting runnning at me with his hand behind his back along with the ex, I then ran to my trunk to grab my weapon and proceeded point it in the air. The niece and bf stepped back after trying to grab my sons, the ex kept trying to get my son away from me, while doing this the weapon was pointed down at the ground and i shoved her away with my other hand. once she got her distance I ran and got in my truck and left. Once I got in the truck I had a big scar on my face that was bleeding, once I got home the police pulled up right behing me, anyway the officers stated they would have done the same thing but since there was a witness who stated he saw me punch her in the face then walk to my truck, walk back and put the weapon to her head and said I will kill you B-----. I was charged with 2 cnts of agg bat with a weapon without intent to kill and domestic bat. she listed in her statement along with the niece and bf that I hit her first and pulled the gun on them. the officers took pics of my face and my car and evidence. I am claiming not guilty for self defense, what expections should I be expecting. I am also active military
