Where is the other parent?
the other parent was nowhere to be found. quick background. other parent fled california before custody order was put in place and could not be found since. the other parent has been hiding with my son, i continued to appear in court the other did not. i now have full and sole custody. in the last few months the other parent has made contact with me and we have been working on an agreement. i gave a choice of colorado or calif to live, since i found them in NM, in order to keep me from taking my son completely from them. its a neutral zone for work and school.
just to clarify... i dont need colorado to adopt my orders?
Actually, it is a good idea to submit a petition requesting that Colorado accept jurisdiction over your custody orders. That way, if you need to litigate any future matters related to that - i.e. your need to file for contempt, or your ex files for a modification - it will be handled in near your home.
