Default Divorce is Closed - Can I Still Change My Name

My question involves name change laws in the State of: Louisiana
So my divorce was in 07 in Texas. I reside in louisiana now. My decree doesnt say anything bout changing my name. What all do I need to show to change my name back? Will my divorce decreed work?

How long have you lived in Louisiana? As long as you've established legal residency - lived there for a year, permanent address, drivers license, registered to vote, etc. - you need only take your ID, birth certificate, and divorce decree to the courthouse in your parish, and get the forms for legal change of name. Ask the Clerk for "Petition for Name Change". Filing fees vary, but are typically in the $50 - $100 range. Fill out the forms completely, pay the filing fee, and wait.

It's likely that you won't even have to appear in court. Whether you do or not, you'll receive a copy of the final judgment granting or denying the name change in the mail. Expect it to be granted, since you're just changing back to your maiden name.
