    Default Should I Run Away

I'm 15 and tired of all the yelling in my house I just want it all to stop my dad is a diabetic and does not take care of himself properly and when his blood sugar drops he usally gets belligerent most the time it's just verbal, but sometimes he will get physical a few weeks ago he let his sugar drop and started yelling f*ck over the phone when he was working then when my mom tried to bring him some juice to bring his sugar up he yelled at her and when she didnt move he threw the chair he was sitting in against the window and slapped her and then put her in a headlock then she started screaming and he let go but pushed her out of the house which he repeatdly said get out of MY house.
Thankfully he calmed down some, but now there is a lot of tension in the house like your walking on eggshells and i'm tired of it. The only option I see for me is to run away I know that the real world isn't safe but it seems better to me than staying here. So should I run away?

Don't be a drama queen. Running away is NOT the answer.

If you are being abused, contact child protective services. If you see someone else being abused, call the police.

Have you TALKED to your father?

Perhaps a conversation about your feelings?

Well I would love to talk to him about how I feel, but I wouldn't know how to start the conversation plus he's really never the person to go to for a talk

Hon, that's not something we can really help you with.

There are many support forums online to help teens in similar situations. I suggest you start Googling

And, of course, if you run away, the police will just bring you home. Not to mention the problem with not having schooling, no job, no shelter, no protections, and being potential jail bait for anyone who might take you in knowing that you are a runaway or that you have no permission or be there.

You might want to talk to a counselor about the abuse and issues at home. An intervention of some sort might be had, or, they might take you from the home until mom and dad get their stuff straight.

So, if you did run away, what was your grand plan for a life? How would you survive?
