Default Colliding With an Unattended Vehicle

My question involves a traffic accident in the State of: Georgia

    OK Somewhat unusual Story-
I was actually taking back from walmart parking lot and touched somebody's vehicle parked besides me. I came out of car checked that my car has minor dent and could not able to see any damage on other car so considering no accident came home (I know it is silly). 2 hours cop came and arrested me for hitting unattended vehicle, I was released in 2hours as my wife paid the bond.

In its report even cop has written that as per witness, I came out from car and checked other car. As per report it is "SLIGHT" damage and cost damage is given just $300.

I have no prior criminal records, No traffic violation tickets. I had valid license, registration and full insurance of my car. If it matters my age is 32 and family guy

    Please suggest -
    1) Should I hire a attorney? Or can take the case on my own
    2) Should I Say "No Guilty" or Simply ask for plea bargain.
    3) What can be the possible outcome (I talked with few seasoned traffic ticket attorneys, they said you will be just at max paying the $ fine no more jail)
    4) What are my chances to bring the down this "Misdemeanor" charge to "Civil Infraction" or some less severe non moving violation (thru Plea bargain).

(I won't mind paying extra $ fine in lieu of dropping charges)

Any helpful tip would be appreciated....

If you're charged with a misdemeanor, I personally would want to work with a local lawyer to try to reduce the charge or get a deferral. The best person to estimate your odds is a local lawyer, who would be familiar with the local courts and prosecutor's office.

    Thanks for your reply...
As I mentioned that I did check with 2 seasoned attorneys who are expert in accident/DUI cases. They said, you don;t need us, you can go ahead and talk to Prosecutor. Worst case, they are looking is to pay the fine for this charge.

I also visited the court where I supposed to show up to get a feel. I checked with the clerk at court, If I can talk to prosecutor before hand. She said, I can only talk to prosecutor only when they call my case

As I said, My question is what typically is the process of asking for plea bargain?

I just dealt with this case. I'd get an attorney. It is a misdemeanor and can be a more severe one depending on state. They can usually get this case dismissed.
