My question involves a roommate in the State of: West Virginia
I lived with a girl for basically two years, from october 2004-may 2006. She actually lived in my apartments and etc, but never paid any rent nor was on any lease with me, she had nowehere else to go. She had a bill in her name, and when we broke up, she moved out never switched it out of her name, and so I kept using the amenities because it seemed she was paying for them. She was sent to collections for not paying the bill, after she moved out, and she was not on the lease with me for the apartment. She is now saying that I owe such and such money. What can I do? She will no go away. She also, background, lived with my parents, who took her in because she had nowhere else to go, and lived with them not paying rent, for food, etc. out of the kindness of their hearts. What can I do if she is threatening to take me to small claims court? Can I counter sue/ reclaim what could potentially be owed to me for rent and etc?
