Sure you do. You have a roof over your head, food in your belly, clothes on your back, and presumably hot and cold running water, heat, and electricity. THAT is what child support is for - to support the child, not give to the child to do with as s/he pleases. Whoever told you that child support is yours was misinformed.they are both retired and are reciveing money from the state and child support. i dont see any of it.
Unlikely. Without a proven track record of complete self-sufficiency - already living on your own and paying rent at market rate, handling all of your own food, clothing, medical and educational expenses - the court is unlikely to grant your petition. Additionally, if your guardians object, you'll have to have clear and convincing evidence that emancipation is in your best interests. Are you prepared to argue in court that your guardians are detrimental to you?I was wondering if since i am financially stable and soon to graduate (Spring 2012) if i would be granted emansipation approval.
