My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Washington
Right after exiting the freeway, I was clocked by radar (SMD checked on ticket) by a King County Sheriff going 48 in a 35. I thought the speed limit was 40. $154 ticket and I guess I was wrong![]()
Here's the weird part: his motorcycle was parked on the sidewalk (opposite side of the road without any lights on), he was off his bike and pulled me over by flagging me down on foot. He never turned on his red/blue lights. I don't know if any of that matters, it was just odd to be pulled over by a policeman basically on foot. Since my 16th birthday, and receiving my license, I have been pulled over 3 times, once when I was 16 for speeding but received a warning- the other two were for a headlight being out. I'm now 28, almost 29 and this is my first ticket.
So I have three options: Pay it, mitigate it, or contest it. What would you recommend and are there any points I should specifically address when I try to get out of it in court? Thanks!
