Default No Contest or Not Guilty, Which Plea is Better

My question involves criminal law for the state of: FL

No Contest or not guilty, which plea is better in a petty theft if I want to keep my records clean? It's my first time, I was never involved in a criminal issue.

No contest will result in you being found guilty.
Not guilty may not but unless you present a defense, it's still likely to end up as a conviction.

Plead not guilty until a lawyer advises you of the implications of doing otherwise.
    Get a lawyer.
