    Default Avoiding Parental Liability

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: TX
Ok, so the technical question is: How does a parent protect themselves?
Is there anything I can do to protect myself from being sued between the point of my 17 yr old moving out and being emancipated.
I am also under the understanding, in the state of TX, residency occurs after a 30 day period. So it would be 30 days before she could file to be emancipated.
Can I put a "statement" in the paper, should I file anything? I am wiling to allow emancipation, I am also willing to allow her to be on our car insurance policy until emancipation...but if she does something stupid while not living under my roof, how do I protect myself?
This is not something I want, this is something that is inevitable, she will move with or without my consent. I am trying to give enough details for her to decide this is a bad move, all for the sake of her wanting to do this before graduation.
    Thank you

Duct tape and a cattle prod.

More seriously, though, what makes you think she's a candidate for emancipation? How much money does she make at her full time job? How long has she been 100% self-supporting?

If she's not self-supporting, 100%, she is NOT going to be emancipated. Full stop.

Until she turns 18, you are 100% legally and financially responsible for her, even if you let her live elsewhere.
