Default Charging a Collection Fee Before Sending Account to Outside Collections

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Michigan

I would like to know, if we can charge a collection fee to accounts being sent to a collecton agency. This would help offset the cost of using the agency. We would probably charge each account differently, based on the amount of the debt. Thanks in Advance.

If your contract with your debtor(s) provides for a fee and it is in an amount consistent with state law, you can assess that fee.
